My New Hat and Fun Lunch Date - pt. 1

Hello again everyone! I hope you've had a nice day or two since I've last told you about my life; here I go again. The past two days have been pretty fun, definitely lively. Yesterday my English class presented our research papers to the class and left. It took a long time to get through everyone's presentations; three were left after the session ended so they had to present in our instructor's office. I was so nervous about my presentation, but it was okay in the end.
My friend, Trevor, made a human brain out of pipe cleaners with little trees and a fire on the inside. It really looked like a box with pipe cleaner trees, and he also made three people representing the three characters in the short story. At the end of class he and I went out to meet with Chris and Christen. It was here that he bestowed upon me his lovely project. I chuckled at this and asked him to help me put it on  my head so it could be my hat. The other three laughed at this, and Trevor helped me put it on. It looked absolutely ridiculous, but it was quite funny as most ridiculous things are.
My hat on my lap coming home
While I had my hat on my professor walked out and overheard us chatting about our projects and I happened to be talking about mine. I said that I didn't think I did particularly well, but that it was okay. Someone posed the question "why," and I said it was because I rambled. Someone then made the remark about me babbling. I instantly corrected them by saying, "I don't babble; I might ramble, but I don't babble." That was when my professor walked by and laughed at me. I don't know why it was funny because the connotations for both words are different for me, but when asked about it he said that my comment was "mildly funny," which is good I suppose since I do aim to be a sort of funny person. Then Trevor most graciously offered Christen his plethora of pipe cleaners, and I took like ten of them for myself. I then spent that last few minutes of our time planning a way to make pipe cleaner figures and taping them to Trevor's and my professor's wall outside his office falling into a fire to represent Jonathon Edwards' work Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God. Then everyone laughed at me and Christen said she was concerned at the fact that I constructed the whole plan so quickly.
After we dispersed Chris and I walked to his office so I could see why he laughed at what I said, and once he saw my hat he laughed again. We proceeded to have a nice conversation about random things for a few minutes. It was enjoyable seeing as how I don't usually have the chance to small talk very often; it's something I wouldn't mind doing more of. With that, day one of the fun ended. Now onward to day two of our exciting festivities!
